I have been studying a lot lately…seriously, all the time. My exam is today (FINGERS CROSSED!) and I’ve been busting my butt trying to get ready. The pups don’t like it very much. It means that I’m often home during the day but still ignoring them for most of the time. While sometimes I have Caya looking after me
or on rare occasions, both of the girls
It’s really Inca who has stepped up to the plate to be my consistent study buddy. These are all separate occurrences of her, laying in the middle of the floor in the office where I’ve been working (or at my feet) 🙂
What a cutie!
Mother’s Day was a bit of a hard day for me. It was definitely joyous calling the mothers in my life and Brett’s…my mother-in-law and grandmother’s in particular. A few friends are even starting along their paths of motherhood. 🙂 I didn’t quite realize exactly how many emotions were attached to this Hallmark holiday though until I received this card in the mail from a beloved cousin
It was such a powerful card, such an awesome gesture, from such a wonderful woman in my life 🙂 (and her husband hehe). It got me thinking of many of the very strong women in my life who enjoy connecting with me through paper goods. I’ve told you all before how much I LOVE cards and sentimental mail 🙂 Just a few snippets from them will complete our Girly Wednesday post for the week
The last one is from my momma…
We did A LOT of sightseeing in Paris. We also tried to see some things that were slightly off the beaten path, so to speak. Brett took countless pictures using his nice camera…and I took a few…but those we’ll post once we’ve gone through them and done some editing and tweaking. For now, here are some of our iPhone camera shots of the major sights of Paris..in the order in which we saw them 🙂 Enjoy!
Two of the pictures weren’t taken in Paris…can you guess which ones? 🙂
Since the neighbors were so very neighborly and wonderfully helpful to us during Mallory’s battle vs. the lawn we wanted to do something to show our gratitude. I found this recipe for Lemonhead cookies and I thought I’d give them a try.
The recipe calls for all of the regular, cookie-like ingredients,
along with lemons
and, as the name of the cookies might imply, Lemonhead candies!
The cookies baked up quite nicely, with the smells of lemon and vanilla filling the entire kitchen.
The baked cookies were slightly flatter than I had intended (maybe the dough was too warm before baking?…does that affect anything? haha) They definitely live up to their name as well…the cookies are quite lemony. 🙂 I think for next time I’m going to skip the lemonhead candies (I promise to keep the lemon juice from the actual lemon! haha!) and add some chocolate chips.
The weather has been soooo fantastic lately! One evening, right after getting home from work, Brett and I let the pups outside and decided to join them. We set up the hammock, grabbed our laptops, and worked for about an hour while enjoying the evening air. The central tree in our backyard finally has all of its leaves and the grass is in, full and green. The hammock was one of the best, for fun items that Brett and I put on our wedding registry…
Eventually we were all hungry and the pups in particular started nudging up against the hammock, trying to get our attention. They distracted one another for a few minutes by playing around the hammock but growling stomachs still won over in the end and inside we went.
The evening outside was so welcoming after the long winter. I cannot wait until its warmer like this every day 🙂
